where ssp. katherinae is very easy toe grow, this subspecies is in my opnion rather difficult to grow. I find it hard to keep the plant alive. I have one small plant and in my opinion the bulbs shrinks each year in stead of that it grows. the flowers of ssp. multiflorus are smaller than the ones of ssp. katherinae and they are red coloured. Scadoxus multiflorus ssp. multiflorus dies off at the beginning of the dormant period.
