bulbs of E. zambesiaca of size 6-8 cm can already flower whereas with other Eucomis species bulbs have the size of at least 8-10 cm to flower. Of course, smaller bulbs of E. zambesiaca produce smaller infloresences with less flowers than large sized bulbs. I would like to recommend to grow the species indoors.
