this species has pure white flowers. They resemble the ones of E. autumnalis ssp. autumnalis, but this species has flowers with a green centre. Further differences are that the leaves of E. zambesiaca are smaller. Regarding the bulbs the differences are more clear. The bulbs of E. zambesiaca are allmost black and have a tunic. The ones of E. autumnalis ssp. autumnalis and other Eucomis species are light brown coloured.
