the genus Caliphruria is closely related to Eucharis. Both genera are native to the northern part of South America. Caliphruria species are rare in cultivation. That's a pitty. One of my favorite specialt bulbs is C. korsakoffii with its oval shaped, bright green coloured leaves and white flowers which stand in an umbel. The plant can flower more than once in one year. C. korsakoffii is sensitive to meally bugs and bulb mites.
